RFID Library Application System

RFID technology serves as the basis for a smart library service ecosystem that connects between hardware devices or systems. It improves the core competitiveness of libraries and facilitates a 24-hour self-service mechanism for readers.

  • InterRead Integrated Library Automation SystemThe system, designed for small and medium-sized libraries supports drop-in installation and has a web-based user interface. Integration of indexing, purchasing, distribution, periodicals, management and query models enhance management efficiency and ease of query.
  • iNspire Library Services PlatformThe platform was developed to assist academic or large libraries with library collection searches and delivery services. An electronic resource management module can also be integrated to provide readers with integrated searching of printed resources and electronic collections.
  • Electronic Resource Management (ERM) System:The system is designed for centralized management of databases for electronic periodical and e-books. Functions include querying, book recommendation, automatic listing/de-listing, and reader behavior analysis; it can be used with Ezproxy to query campus databases at any time and place.
  • iReserve Seats Reservation SystemReservation services for all spaces and seating within the library are all integrated so that a single card is all that’s needed to access all services. The modular design means it can be introduced on demand by libraries.
  • Handheld Inventory Reader:The handheld reader can scan books with RFID tags regardless of their size and thickness at a quick and steady pace. Inventory data can also be uploaded or downloaded in real time for cross-checking with the library automation system.
  • UHF Book Tag:The long, strip-like antenna can be completely concealed within a book so that it can be deliberately removed by the reader; book tags also support repeated read/writes and different types of collection. It is available with single- or double-sided adhesives.

IDSmart Smart Library RFID-Based Total Solution

  • iReserve Seats Reservation Machine:The machine integrates the reservation system for all library spaces and seats for easy access with just one card. These include self-service registration, reservation and check-in services for readers. Real-time availability of each seating area can be viewed by floor, date and time slot. Statistics on usage, reservations and time slots can also be generated.
  • 24hr Self-Service LockerOffers 7 X 24 self-service pickup of reserved or ordered books. The service is easy for readers to use and the pickup/borrowing process has just 3 easy steps . The modular design means locker quantity and configuration can be customized. Additional lockers can be added to the existing unit at any time as well.
  • Auto Sorter System:Once books are returned to the automatic returns box, they are automatically sorted by the system to accelerate processing time and boost circulation.
  • Self-Service StationProvides readers with self-service borrowing, return, history query, and extension services. It reduces the amount of queuing time and enhances privacy. A variety of models are available and they can be placed anywhere within a library.
  • Holds Enquiry Station:Readers can quickly locate the books that they have a hold on and also reserve books they are interested in. UHF support only and can only be used with Smart Bookshelf.
  • Smart BookshelfThe reader can use the Holds Enquiry Station to confirm that the book they have on hold has arrived. The LED indicator light on the bookshelf then shows them where their book is. UHF support only and can only be used with Holds Enquiry Station.
  • Library Management Station:Use for supporting library counter services. The thin antenna design allows for it to be placed on the counter-top where it saves space and doesn’t get in the way.
  • 24Hr Book DropThe back-end of the 7 X 24 book drop service is integrated with the library automation system for real-time synchronization. It is the perfect solution for libraries wishing to introduce book drop services but has limited space.
  • Security Gate:RFID technology can be controlled by security codes or mobile checkout; the security gate sounds an alert if a reader passes through the gate with books that have not yet been checked out.
  • Book ShowerUV light is used to sterilize multiple books at a time. A fan is used to flip through pages automatically to blow away dust and UV light to reach individual pages. One-touch self-service operation means books can be sterilized, dusted and perfumed within 30 seconds without any damage to ensure a safe reading experience.
  • 24hr Self-Checkout Station:7 X 24 self-service station allows the reader to collect books on hold or borrow recommended books. The design of book storage can be customized.
