Light Rail Transit Light Rail Fare Collection System
Light Rail is powered by electricity and runs on dedicated tracks. They have open stations, no ticket barriers and non-recoverable plastic tokens. Its fare collection system is different from that of heavy railways as its main methods of payment are QR-Code, electronic ticketsand mobile payment.
System Components
- Ticketing Machine:Sale of physical QR-Code one-way tickets and top-up services for different ticket cards.
- Station Ticketing Machine:Used for fare collection and station access management. Different types of tickets can be used including single-use thermal paper, non-contact cards, QR Code, and NFC. Mobile and facial recognition payments are also supported.
- Cash Box:Box for storing cash coins and notes.
- Note Machine:Collect and store notes deposited into the ticket vending machine in the cash box. The cash box has a sophisticated anti-counterfeit function for rejecting counterfeit notes. Authentic notes are accepted and stored in the notes holder.
- Coin Machine:Collect and store coins deposited into the ticket vending machine in the cash box.
