MiTAC signed MoU for smart library in Malaysia

The 84th General Conference and Council of IFLA was held during August 25-8, 2018 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia. The meeting attracted over 3,500 participants from 110 countries. MiTAC Information Technology Corp. subsidiary -ClarIDy Solitions showcased its IDSmart Library Solution at the exhibition, wining plenty of positive feedbacks.

The Congress theme of “Transform libraries: Transform societies” conveyed the crucial role of library changes and innovation in the development of information technology era. ClarIDy echoed the theme with IDSmart Library Solution, such as access control with facial recognition and cardless book borrowing. ClarIDy’s booth was crowded by visitors trying the facial recognition application. Some library curators in Malaysia were also shown on the occasion and express their interests in cooperating with ClarIDy.

At Taiwan-Malaysia Industry forum, MiTAC and Malaysia’s Synvest Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that Synvest Technology will import smart library system from Taiwan to Malaysia’s libraries to enhance the library management and the convenient feature of book borrow-and-return.

MiTAC’s Assistant Vice President, Chris Chen said that many libraries and universities in Taiwan had already adopted IDSmart Library Solution, while interest was high from Japan, Thailand and the Philippines. A delegation comprising presidents of some of Malaysia’s libraries also visited Taiwan, and impressed with the popularity of libraries in Taiwan.
Malaysia’s Synvest Technology’s Direcor Mr. Liu indicated that Synvest Technology was glad to cooperate with MiTA and will comply with the requests of private, public and university libraries in the country to upgrade their quality and win back consumers addicted to their smartphones.
