To expand the communication of IoT application in different fields and industries, 2018 Smart City Summit & Expo hosted 3 professional sub-expos concurrently: Smart Healthcare Expo (SHE), Smart Education Expo (FuturE2D) and Intelligent Building Expo (IBE). MiTAC Information Technology Corp. demonstrated the the application of smart day care center with an interactive booth that highlighted the digitalization, mobilization, and cloud computing in Smart Healthcare solution. MiTAC’s Smart Healthcare solution provides one-stop services include Medical Checkups, Positioning, Medical Records, Smart Vehicle Dispatch and Long-term Care service system.

In recent years, Taiwan have been facing the challenge of low birth rate and aging society, and chronic illnesses have become more common. Consequently, Smart Healthcare has come to be one of the Government’s main focuses. Smart healthcare means combining healthcare with technology to elevate the efficiency and quality of healthcare services and improve the health of the nation.

MiTAC was very early involved in the development of Smart Healthcare business. MiTAC’s Smart Healthcare Director Ru-Wen Chen indicated that MiTAC has developed various applications for the elderly, such as MiBUS for vehicle dispatch, MiKIO as multi-function healthcare station, MiLTC Long-Term Care System, and MiPHB Personal Health Bank in several applied fields including homecare, community service, day care center and hospital.

The elderly’s everyday life usually starts with commuting from home to adult day care centers by taking a rehabilitation bus which needs to make an early reservation. MiTAC’s MiBUS is designed for improve the efficiency and accuracy of on-demand bus dispatch and now used in Taitung County which has high percentage of inhabitants with disabilities. The reservations originally need to be made 7 days in advance, now only need 3 days through MiBUS. Moreover, citizens can also use App to make reservations and track the status of the bus routes. If the bus has vacant seats, urgent reservations made through APP are allowed. It is not only accomplish the goal of carpooling, also optimizes the quality of bus service.

When the elderly reaches to the day care center, the first task is to do the medical examination including blood pressure checks. For this circumstance, we provide MiKIO multi-function healthcare station, offering auto check-in (by inserting health insurance card) and self-service medical examination, simplifying the examination process and saving time.

During the day in the adult care center, medical personnel and daycare workers have to monitor the elderly’s activities and situation anytime. Relieving the day care work load, MiTAC’s MiLTC Long-Term Care System using wearable devices such as smart bracelet to track their sleep, exercise and position, and reduce the risk of wandering, falling, and getting lost.

MiTAC has also cooperated with Starwing Technology showcasing the world-leading centimeter-level indoor positioning system and provided on-site interactives in the exhibition. With in-built Next-generation AI technology, the system can do monitoring on positions of personnel or devices, path tracing, real-time heat map analysis, GEO fencing and security surveillance, thus it enhances the efficiency of field management, lowers the risk of accidents and perfects the Long-term healthcare environment.

Responding to governments’s “My Health Bank” policy, MiPHB Personal Health Bank provides data collecting function and health bank services which could automatically upload medical examination data to the system storage as personal health record book.
