The \u201c3rd NTP Blood Donation Campaign\u201d was held by the Neihu Technology Park (NTP) Development Association on August 26. Leading the MiTAC team at the opening ceremony, carrying flags and banners despite the hot weather, was vice president of Administrative Support Center, Yen-Hsiu Lin. Many NTP companies and groups were represented at this meaningful campaign. Taipei City Mayor Wen-Je Ko and Vice Mayor Shan-Shan Huang also attended to show their support, hoping that, by setting an example, more people will roll up their sleeves and give blood.<\/p>\n
Impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, blood banks in Taiwan are suffering a drop in donations. Determined to contribute, MiTAC colleagues were already lined up at the lobby to give blood before the arrival of the blood-donation bus. Chun-Ming Li, Activity Leader of the United Welfare Committee, said: \u201cit was the first time for many colleagues to donate blood, and even those who were afraid of needles overcame their fear to make a difference. I was truly touched by their determination to help others,\u201d \u201cFurthermore, several people could not give blood because they did not reach the health standards of blood donation, thus realizing how important it is to stay healthy. Not only does this campaign help others, but it also raises people\u2019s awareness of their own health,\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAs many people applied to take part in the blood-donation campaign, it was expected that a large group of people would turn up. The Welfare Committee also assigned people to work in shifts to offer help on-site while also maintaining order. We thank the General Affairs Department for providing their professional advice, and the Planning, Welfare Committee and related personnel of each business group.\u201d The campaign ran from 9:30am to 4:30pm, and a total of 2,191 bags of blood were collected. Among these bags, MiTAC accounted for 236 bags, making a great contribution. The Company was invited back to accept the \u201cBest Charitable Company of the Year Award\u201d presented by the NTP.<\/p>\n
According to Vice President Janet Lin : \u201cIt was the Company\u2019s first time participating in NTP\u2019s blood-donation campaign. We understand that giving a bag of blood can save many lives, and being able to do this makes us very happy and emotional. Thanks to this meaningful campaign, colleagues at MiTAC are closer than ever. In the future, MiTAC will continue to play a role in the campaign to contribute what we can for the health of Taiwanese people.
